We’re excited to announce our own Stephen Unsworth has been selected for the 2014 Super Lawyer’s List. This honor ranks him among the top lawyers throughout New England. As our clients know, he specializes in estate planning, elder law and Medicaid planning.
Stephen is a member of the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys (AAEPA), the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Chittenden County Bar Association and the Vermont Bar Association. Further, Unsworth Law is the only American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys (AAEPA) member in Vermont. This national organization serves the needs of legal professionals concentrating on estate planning.
He is admitted to practice in both Vermont and Maine and has more than three decades of experience in estate planning and business law. As always, his focus is to ensure quality estate planning services to his clients. This might include providing guidance with Living Trusts, Wills, Medicaid Planning, Probate, Trust Administration, Powers of Attorney, Special Needs Planning, and Family Limited Partnerships.
Stephen graduated from the University of Maine with distinction and received his Juris Doctorate from Western New England College School of Law in Springfield, Mass. He continues to be active in his community, his church and on the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army. He and his wife live in Shelburne with their three children.
In the past, he has served on the Board of Governors of the AAEPA, President of the Chittenden County Bar Association as well as Chairman of the Vermont Bar Association Continuing Education Committee. In that capacity, he was awarded for being an outstanding chairperson. Stephen was also awarded a certificate of appreciation from a Vermont Administrative Judge for his work as an Acting Judge in Small Claims Court. He regularly presents at continuing legal education seminars for attorneys and paralegals in Vermont and has taught business law courses at both the University of Vermont and Champlain College.
We’re excited that Stephen was named a Super Lawyer and we look forward, as a team, to continue to show our clients exactly what it is that defines a Super Lawyer.
